LAKE CHARLES LA. – ”FANTASTIC,” was the first word Owner/CEO Kyle Thorne used to describe the new 2012 Louisiana Swashbuckler FirstMates. “This is a group of young women that are beautiful, athletic, talented and intelligent. Swashbuckler fans will be intoxicated by the wonderful selection Coordinator Diana Doucet assembled,” declared Thorne. The FirstMates will be formally introduced at the first Swashbuckler game on March 17. However, you may now view their profiles on www.labucs.com. “Do not attend a Swashbuckler game if you have a weak heart," quipped Thorne. "These girls will fire up the crowd!”
“The FirstMates represent not only the Louisiana Swashbucklers, but the entire SW Louisiana community,” shared Doucet. 16 girls were chosen from an arduous three day tryout in early September. Dance, personality and a willingness to build community relationships were the main criteria for the 2012 squad. “The increased number will allow for a much broader community reach,” stated Doucet. “The new Swashbuckler organization is desirous of building a relationship with each and every member of the SW Louisiana community. “The FirstMates are the primary connection to the community,” stated Doucet. “They are the teams community ambassadors. We plan to be involved in charitable causes that build community spirit and work toward a better SW Louisiana,” Doucet claimed.
The FirstMates will also introduce a new in game uniform ensemble for 2012. The uniforms will be seen on the FirstMates at the first game on March 17. The Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders will be jealous of the new look FirstMates confirmed Doucet. The combination of beautiful, athletic women in these new uniforms will be electrifying,” Doucet confirmed.
In addition to the new uniforms, the 2012 FirstMates are producing a pictorial calendar for 2012 that will be available for sale on line, at www.labucs.com and at various retail locations during the Holiday season. This calendar will display the beauty of SW Louisiana, along with alluring images of Swashbuckler FirstMates. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the FirstMates calendar will go to charity.
