SWASHBUCKLERS TO PARTICIPATE IN NAMI FUNDRAISER

 

LAKE CHARLES LA. – Wide receiver Marcus Wilridge and defensive back Brandon Thomas of the Louisiana Swashbucklers will participate as two members of the Hometown Heroes when they play the Harlem Ambassadors on Wednesday, January 13, at the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m. The game is a fundraiser for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

 

Tickets are on sale at the Civic Center Box Office, Meaux’s Western Wear and the NAMI office of Southwest Louisiana. Advance tickets are $7 dollars for students and seniors and $9 for adults. Tickets at the door are $9 for students and seniors and $11 for adults.

 

Other Hometown Heroes scheduled to play include Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach, Calcasieu Parish Police Jurors Kevin Guidry and Hal McMillan, former McNeese head women’s basketball coach Carol Sensley and former Swashbucklers head coach Kip Texada. Our own Thom Hager (Swashbucklers owner and SIFL president) will be a guest referee.

 

The Harlem Ambassadors are a six member team based in Fort Collins, Colorado, who travel the country playing basketball for the benefit of charitable agencies.
